Paul J. Fabritz is internationally known as one of the lead Performance Enhancement Specialists in the world. Fabritz’s innovative and scientific approach to training has made PJF Performance the authority in basketball specific performance training. Fabritz is the personal performance trainer for numerous NBA players including James Harden (Houston Rockets), Marquese Chriss (Phoenix Suns), Buddy Hield (Sacramento Kings) and numerous NBA/WNBA first round draft picks.
In addition to serving as the program designer and pro trainer for PJF Performance, Fabritz is recognized as a research pioneer for his work on Vertical Jump Biomechanics and Ground Reaction Forces along with Cal State Fullerton Biomechanics. Fabritz has conducted research in injury prevention and corrective exercise modalities.
Fabritz played basketball at the D1 level despite numerous injuries that left him sidelined for the majority of his college career. Fabritz’s story as a basketball player became known when he improved his max vertical jump from 32” to 47” in just over 1 year and went from barely touching the rim to throwing down full windmill dunks. The training principles used throughout Fabritz’s transformation are now the underpinnings of the PJF Vertical Jump System. With over 300,000 instagram followers, thousands of online training users and hundreds of in-person clients, Fabritz’s methods have successfully transformed the athleticism of players worldwide.
Fabritz is one of six trainers sponsored and endorsed by adidas hoops. Fabritz is an active consultant for SKLZ and has helped lend his expertise to companies such as VertiMax and Recovery Pump. As a published fitness writer, Fabritz’s work has appeared in top publications such as STACK, LiveStrong, Mens Health, Dick’s Sporting Goods Blog, Manila Times, NBA TV Philippines, AZ Central and The Houston Chronicle.

Ashley Powell is PJF Performance’s behind the scenes super hero, overseeing all of the day to day operations, customer success, human resources/compliance and financial account management. Ashley received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Family & Human Development and is currently in the process of pursuing her MBA in Strategic Planning. She houses an extensive background in Yoga and Pilates and is also a member of the PJF Elite program.
Ashley’s robust list of accolades and accomplishments that she has received from number of Fortune 500 companies in recruiting, account management, customer service and finance makes her an essential asset to the PJF Team! When she isn’t hard at work she is an avid animal activist/enthusiast, loves the outdoors, and is also a vocalist, writer and dancer.
PJF Performance Dr. of Biomechanics Consultant
Guillermo Noffal, PhD received his doctorate in Biomechanics from The University of Western Australia. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physical Education with a minor in Computer Science from San Diego State University. Prior to joining the faculty at CSUF in 1996, he served as a research assistant for the Department of Defense conducting various experiments investigating the effects of heat and dehydration on human performance for individuals wearing full chemical warfare gear. He designed and has directed the Movement Analysis Laboratory which focuses on identifying internal and external forces present during various movements. He is a frequent reviewer for Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise, Strength and Conditioning and the International Journal of Sports Medicine. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the International Society of Biomechanics in Sports, he belongs to the Advisory Board for the Center for the Advancement of Responsible Youth Sport, and he is a member of the Southern California Sports Science Committee. Dr. Noffal makes frequent presentations at local, state, district, national, and international conferences with recent presentations in Australia, England, Puerto Rico and Costa Rica.
Dr. Noffal’s research is focused on identifying injury mechanisms associated with dynamic movements and developing training and rehabilitation programs aimed at preventing injury. In his free time he enjoys basketball, tennis, traveling, mountain biking and being pulled by other faculty members when they ride their road bicycles to the beach.
PJF Performance Trainer-South
Nick Hawkins, CSCS graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a B.S. in Kinesiology. He holds certifications in CPR and AED through the American Red Cross and is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS). Nick has worked with a number of college and high-level volleyball and basketball players including both NBA and CBA players. He became interested in strength and conditioning while playing high school basketball and went on to play in Germany in the Niedersachsen Oberliga where he gained invaluable experience learning training techniques and connecting with a diverse group of teammates and coaches. Nick enjoys the challenge of working with a wide range of athletes, from youth to professionals and is always looking for the next area of mastery!
