The Euro Step has become a popular move in the NBA, and is even making it’s way into the high school and youth levels. It’s a very effective move if used correctly and in the right situation. Guys like Manu Ginobili, Dwayne Wade, James Harden and many more NBA stars are using the Euro Step to create separation to finish at the rim.
The Euro Step is a pretty simple move when you really break it down. Go hard one way, create lateral separation w/ a long diagonal step and put the ball in the hoop. Watching the NBA stars is a great way to learn the Euro Step, but players often benefit additionally from a complete breakdown including slow motion/freeze frame analysis. Also, it is important to realize that each player has a unique Euro Step style, and there are quite a lot of variations to the move.
Below is my breakdown of the Manu Ginobili Euro Step. Learn this move, and spend the rest of the week mastering the Manu style. Next week i’ll be back w/ another video, which will break down the D-Wade Euro.
